The Woman That I am

What's up folks, 

I know I have been M.I.A for a minute *covers face*,  but have no fear, I am back!!! LOL I wanted to share this piece that I got from a fb page owned by a sister called Simone. Unfortunately, this page no longer exist, but I am happy that I had kept this little poem. So in hopes of encouraging someone, I decided to post it here. Be blessed. 

The woman that I am:

I am the Woman that I am today not because of circumstances

Not because of bad relationships and failed chances

Not because of applause or the destructive words of man

And certainly not because anyone has made me who I am

But I am learning the secret weapon that defeats all odds against me

That I can be anything or anyone I want to be

It all starts with accepting and believing with all my heart

That the Creator of this world loves me with my good and bad parts

That though situations adverse may have beset me night and day

It does not have to shape what I do and what I say

Who does God say I am is more important to me

And it sure don't take L'oreal to make me lady lovely

I am the Woman that I am today, and it's a revelation so strong

That makes me know I can climb all mountains, and keep on keeping on

I roll out of bed and fall on my knees for that is why I am standing here

I know that I can love again without doubts and without fear

I choose my destiny daily by what my mind feeds on

And if I am lost I cannot blame it on those who did me wrong

I will not let the pain of the past prevent me from happiness

I will not let a second class relationship keep me from receiving God's best

I'm taking responsibility today for joy, strength and peace

In Jesus I will find these things, at His voice the storm will cease

I'm basking in the sunshine when clouds can only be seen

And what was once a nightmare, has now become a dream

This is who I am today....

Free... so free.. so free...not allowing anything anymore to define me!
